Juliet Best
Juliet Best is a Wellington based artist. She paints with vibrant colours, applying a rigorous process of showing light and dark graduations - chiaroscuro.
Juliet includes tapa cloth, gold leaf, works on paper, limited edition framed prints and traditional painted pieces amongst her general repertoire of work.
She grew up in Nelson and Hawkes Bay and graduated from Waikato Polytechnic working as a graphic designer in the mid 80's. Juliet also worked as an illustrator on The Evening Post and Dominion newspapers before moving to London and working as a concept designer for ICL.
Juliet returned to New Zealand and attended Inverlochy Art School in mid 1990's before working at Te Papa as an events manager during 2001 – 2007. She is now a full-time artist with many successful dealer gallery solo and shared exhibitions to her name. Juliet's artworks and commissioned paintings are held in private and corporate collections in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Denmark, Sweden and England.
