Moira Crossman

Moira has been sculpting for more than the past 20 years having graduated from the Otago Polytechnic School of Fine Arts in 1986, she went on to do her Master of Fine Arts degree.

Over the past 20years Moira has exhibited frequently in Dunedin and the Maniatoto and has taken part in Stone Symposiums in the South Island from Invercargill to Picton.  She has also secured various large scale commissions such as the large Whale’s tail ‘Te Ara O Kiwa I Te Mauri O Takaroa’ made of blue stone (1.7 x 1.6m) in the Waikouaiti Town Garden.

She has a particular interest in images drawn from nature and displays a gift for expressing this with sensitivity.  Moira works in a variety of medium, from Oamaru Stone, Marble, Mt Sumner stone and wood. She now works closely with native New Zealand birds at the Dunedin Eco-sanctuary and also continues to make her beautiful sculpture.
